I can say, without a doubt, that The Score has what it takes to be the next big thing in pop music and rock music.
You might've heard their songs in big sporting events such as Wimbledon, NFL games, as well as commercials and trailers for TV shows such as World of Music and movies such as Pitch Perfect 3. Though they're a small band, they have the potential, and the songs, to become the next big thing in music.
The Score first broke onto the scene in 2015 with their biggest hit to date, Oh My Love. It's a catchy indie pop track that found success through Shazam and Asda commericals. The Score followed up with more rock-heavy songs such as Unstoppable, Legend, On and On, and Miracle, of which all but one are included on their debut LP, Atlas. By mixing the best of both pop and rock, they've created a masterful combination that's propelled them to success. Their debut album came out on October 13, featuring some of their biggest hits as well as a collection of new songs.
In my opinion, it's one of the best pop and rock albums out there. The album starts off with Never Going Back, a softer rock song that gives listeners a feel for what the album will be like. Featuring their signature pop-inspired drumming as well as the motivational energy that has made them who they are, Never Going Back is the perfect selection to start off the album. Next comes Legend, one of their biggest hits. With a roaring guitar riff and drum beats that make you want to stomp your feet, it's no surprise this song has become as successful as it has. Next is Only One, a song with calmer verses and a louder chorus. It's the perfect mix of both styles. Tightrope follows next and is much more of a ballad. Featuring echoing guitar chords and drums, it's a welcome track. Believe is another ballad, fusing more inspiration in as well as more American Authors-inspired drumming. Their second biggest hit, Unstoppable, comes next with its pounding drums and catchy guitar riff. Who I Am follows, mixing ballad and anthem to create an inspirational song that is definitely a listen-on-repeat song. Revolution, a track off of their Myths and Legends EP, mixes heavy guitar chords with foot-stomping drums. The next song on the album, Shakedown, is undoubtedly the most rock song on the album. With a unique and catchy guitar riff serving as the breakdown of the song, it has plenty of potential to become another hit. Next come Higher and Miracle, two massively inspirational songs featuring anthemic guitar chords and pounding drums. The album finishes off with Strange, a perfect mixture of their signature indie rock style as well as a pulsating guitar and synth drop in the chorus.
Though they do not have nearly the same level of fame as similar bands such as Imagine Dragons and Fall Out Boy, their debut LP, Atlas, proves that they have what it takes to become the next big name in music. Already signed to Republic Records, the label of many chart-topping artists such as Ariana Grande, Black Sabbath, Lorde, Post Malone, and The Weeknd, The Score is poised to become the next famous band in both pop and rock music.
